awesometopia, is up and running. Signups are open right now, and the first challenges are up with more on the way soon. I'm going to steal a blurb from co-mod crumplysnorkack:

awesometopia is a multi-fandom land community. (If it's geeky, it's welcome here.) Members compete in graphics and writing contests, play games, and do all manner of weird and awesome things to earn points for their teams: Team Dragons, Team Piratefish, or Team Rocketgeese. At the end of the round, the team with the most points wins.

The intro/faq post is here, and this is the sign-up post.

Pass it on. :)

I had 28 out of 29 caps for that banner, and I needed another fandom. Self, I thought, what picture could I put in this spot to force risskabob to join? That is absolutely how it happened. Maybe.

How many are you in?

4 right now. So really, not a *whole* lot compared to some people.

Same here. Though I seem to be a mod in three of them. That might count towards saying I'm in too many lands.

It's always scary when a profile page has a neat, 3x3 grid of sig banners for different land comms. How can anyone even do that many challenges a week?

edit: BTW, I'm putting off approving new members until tomorrow in the hopes that more people will sign up who don't want rocketgeese, and I'll have fewer people with their second choice to feel bad about. In case you're wondering what the holdup is.

Eh, no worries. I'm doing a TON of challenges for other comms right now anyway.

It's a problem, that one of the teams has such an awesome name...

Piratefish is the best name of the bunch.

The signup post does explain that Rocketgeese is kind of the scifi themed team, but it doesn't really explain that Piratefish is Earth-based fandoms. So people are all scifi>fantasy>everything else! And then they list like ten scifi fandoms based on Earth, so I feel bad putting them on the fantasy team.

Argh. :(
