GUYS I WANT TO TALK TO YOU

donna
Okay going now.

But I should totally make some kind of chat room and just harass everyone on my flist to join it every weekend, y/n? And then you could do that to your flists, and soon, every cool person ever would be chatting on a weekly basis!

I have fic that I'm stuck on and I have ranting about EoT to do and I want to discuss comms with at least one of you. I will be on all night (no life, me) so if in the next several hours you see this, you can reach me at:

-LJ! If you reply to this, I'll see it faster than if you PM me, but either way.
-MSN! I think it's removed, probably.
-Any java or IRC chat that you tell me to go to!
-email! removed

I especially like the chat idea because then if more than one of you is online tonight, we can all talk and share the awesome that is my flist with each other and it will be epic.

GET ONLINE DUDES AND MOSTLY DUDETTES!

I'll be around on MSN, if you're interested.

YAY!
Sunday, January 3, 2010 at 05:30:37 (UTC)
Sadly I have no chat programs (because I apparently am a walking contradiction when it comes to tech) but I'll be on LJ for a bit if you want to rant about EoT!
Sunday, January 3, 2010 at 05:31:28 (UTC)
Okay let's rant.

GAHWTFRTD!!!

Now you go.

My progression through EoT went something like this: WTF? -> Seriously, WTF RTD?!

Dude broke my brain with part one and I don't think I recovered since. Also, dammit David & Russell! You promised me tears! I was looking forward to heartbreak! Wilf was the only thing that made it close to heartbreaking.
Sunday, January 3, 2010 at 05:51:33 (UTC) - EoT spoilers in this thread btw, in case anyone else wanders in here
I don't know, I think Ten's death scene (the one that was actually like a death scene and climaxed when he stepped into the booth and pushed the button, not the one 15 minutes later where he finally died) was a bit heartbreaking. Until it was ruined by the crap ending.

Personally, I wouldn't be bothered over the amount of heartbreakingness if only there'd been an actual scifi or action plot for me to watch for instead. :\

Wilf was really, really good though, wasn't he?

My heart might have cracked a bit for Ten at that point if it weren't for Wilf. The Doctor already told him that regeneration felt like dying in the cafe and then he had to listen to Ten's rant about how life was unfair and how he wanted to live. All I could think was "Oh, Wilf! It's got to be breaking that poor man's heart to know that he's playing a part in the Doctor's demise."

I just love my angst ;) And RTD and Company kept on hyping it as the saddest thing I'd ever see.

I also love my crack, but I feel that this would've worked better as a random special than as Ten's swan song.

Wilf and Bernard Cribbins were excellent! I do wish it were possible to slip in a Wilf-as-Companion tie-in novel or comic into the merchandising, but alas it isn't so.

Yeah, this would have been better as a random special. It had moments that should have made it into Ten's finale, but as a whole, this was big random episode material.

The impression I got from Wilf was that he was oblivious. He'd probably thought that the Doctor might try to trade places and wanted him to leave instead, but he can't have known he was the Big Fated Death of Ten. If he'd made that connection, surely he wouldn't have gone and knocked four times. So I wasn't even thinking about how bad he's gonna feel, I was just thinking WILF YOU IDIOT WHY DID YOU DO THAT???

But now I am sad for him. At least now he knows a bit more for sure that Donna's safe, though. So that's happy for him.

We don't know that Wilf's never been in the TARDIS, do we? I only remember that he was boggled a bit at being in space. So! Two ways Wilf can totally be a spinoff companion:
-Wilf & Eleven
-"By the way, did I mention it also travels in time?"

TAKE NOTE OF THIS, TEAM CARDIFF.

Yes! I thought TSE/JE felt a bit random-y, but it was nothing compared to this. I feel like RTD had a giant 'Return of the Master' story in his head for Ten's finale and Moffat had a 'Return of the Time Lords' arc brewing for S5 and they decided to mash the two together.

Did Wilf know about the knocking? 'Cause I definitely had the 'No! Wilf! No!' moment as well. I don't think he knew he'd play a part in Ten's death until Ten started ranting. That's when all my sympathy for Ten transferred over to Wilf. I was all, "Dude, yes, dying sucks, but do you have to make an old man feel bad about it as well?!"

I'm fairly sure it was Wilf's first time in the TARDIS since he seemed shocked about the shoddiness of the interior, but if I squint I think can totally fanwank the "travels in time" option.

I'm open for Wilf 'n Eleven adventures though! I'd love for people to think that Wilf was the Time Lord and Eleven the companion!

Googled up a transcript (wow, Internets, you are fast and ILU) and found this:

D: I’m going to die.
WM: Well, so am I, one day.
D [tearing up]: Don’t you dare!
WM [chuckles]: All right, I’ll try not to.
D [swallowing tears]: But I was told… ‘He will knock four times.’ That was a prophecy. Knock four times and then…

WILF! >:(

Ten was playing around with the decorations last time Wilf was in, so it looked neater than normal. *nods*

People would totally think that. Wow. I really hope that happens, at least in fic if nowhere else.

OH WILF, NO!

Yes, quite.

Like much of EoT, I'm just going to pretend that Wilf didn't know and he knocked four times by accident. Because after someone tells you they're going to die after hearing four knocks, you don't knock to get their attention, you yell or do a jig or something!
Sunday, January 3, 2010 at 08:04:35 (UTC) - Re: EoT spoilers in this thread btw, in case anyone else wanders in here
I think he did do it by accident, but after being told the significance of doing that.

So I'm going to pretend that the Master banging on that barrel was "he will knock four times," and Wilf actually did a jig to get the Doctor's attention in the end.

Ah, it's not a proper RTD finale until canon has been subtly altered in my mind so that I won't explode!

Sadly, I am going to have to bid you adieu because it's now almost 3:30 in the morning and I have to wake up in a few hours :( (Although I do feel a bit better having purged some more EoT thoughts!) 'Night!

Oh hey, it's late and stuff. When did that happen? Oh well.

Goodnight!
